The Gateway 7 Series

This recommendation for Lifegroup resources comes from David and Rachel Webb.  The resource comes from LICC and it's called Gateway 7.

All 7 books are available on the Lifegroup resource shelf in the church foyer so please help yourself. 

David and Rachel write:

Over the last few years, we have studied three books in this series from the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity (LICC) :Ruth, Proverbs and 1 Peter. They have all been engaging, thought provoking, practical and easy to lead.

Each book tackles one kind of biblical writing: Law, Prophecy, Gospel, Letters, Wisdom, Apocalyptic and Narrative and what we learnt about how to read and understand the different?genres has influenced how we have responded to other studies since.  The studies explore the passage, ask ‘going deeper’ question, look at ‘living it out’ and respond in prayer. There are also testimonies and plenty of challenges.  The series is very practical and focuses on application of faith in daily life on the ‘front lines’ of our lives at home, in our work and communities and at church.

Each book digs into the culture and background of the time, providing information which shines a new light on the texts. In the studies of Ruth in particular, this opened up new depths and insights into a very familiar story.

We highly recommend it, and are intending to carry on and explore more of the series.
